Graded Equipment
Graded equipment consists of products that have cosmetic imperfections, such as dents, scratches, marks, paint damage or minor blemishes. These imperfections may have occurred during transport, handling or storage and do not necessarily affect the intended operation of the equipment.
Each graded item is sold at a reduced price to reflect its cosmetic condition.
Condition
- Cosmetic defects will be clearly described wherever reasonably possible.
- Photographs on the listing show examples of the types of cosmetic damage that may be present and are for illustration purposes only. They are not photographs of the actual item you will receive.
- Cosmetic imperfections do not affect the intended selling price beyond the advertised discount.
- Cosmetic defects shown or described at the time of sale are accepted as part of the purchase and are not considered faults.
Inspection Prior to Dispatch
All graded equipment undergoes a visual inspection before dispatch.
Gas appliances are not commissioned or gas tested prior to dispatch, as commercial gas appliances must only be installed and commissioned by a qualified Commercial Gas Safe registered engineer.
Electrical equipment may undergo basic electrical safety and operational checks where appropriate; however, this does not replace installation and commissioning by a competent person where required.
Warranty
Unless otherwise stated on the product listing or invoice, graded equipment is supplied with a 6-month parts-only warranty from the date of delivery.
The warranty covers manufacturing defects and component failures occurring during normal commercial use.
The warranty does not cover:
- Cosmetic dents, scratches, paint damage or other visible imperfections.
- Damage caused during installation or handling after delivery.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Consumable components.
- Incorrect installation, misuse, neglect or accidental damage.
- Labour charges, engineer call-out fees or transport costs unless agreed in writing by Infernus.
For gas equipment, a valid Commercial Gas Safe commissioning report may be required before any warranty claim can be considered. Failure to provide suitable commissioning documentation may invalidate the warranty.
Returns
As graded equipment is sold with known cosmetic imperfections, returns will not be accepted for cosmetic damage that was disclosed or visible prior to purchase.
Returns will only be considered where:
- The equipment develops a genuine manufacturing fault covered by the warranty; or
- The item supplied is materially different from the description provided.
All returns must be authorised by Infernus before being sent back.
Customer Responsibility
Customers are responsible for:
- Inspecting the equipment upon delivery.
- Ensuring any transit damage is reported in accordance with our Delivery & Damage Policy.
- Arranging installation by suitably qualified engineers where applicable.
- Following all operating and maintenance instructions.
Acceptance
By purchasing graded equipment, the customer acknowledges and accepts:
- The equipment is supplied with cosmetic imperfections.
- The purchase price reflects the cosmetic condition.
- Cosmetic defects are excluded from warranty claims.
- The warranty period is reduced to 6 months (parts only) unless otherwise stated.
- All other Infernus Terms & Conditions continue to apply unless specifically varied within this policy.
